The Holy Family Roman Catholic School Division welcomed the new members of the school community councils at the board meeting on Wednesday.

A workshop was held for the community councils in the Holy Family School Division on Wednesday night, facilitated by Shirley Gange and Gary Shaddock.

"The council had the opportunity to review the constitution and get information on developing a learning plan," said director of education Shelley Rowein.

Rowein added that the board is looking forward to working with the parent and community in the developing Catholic education.

The 2007-2008 school calendar was also finalized at the board meeting. The first day for teachers will take place on Monday, Aug. 27 and the first day of school for students will be Wednesday, Aug. 29.

Holy Family met with the Southeast Cornerstone School Division recently, where they worked together to review their Radville tuition fee agreement and updated it to include the school community council.

Planning is also underway for the number of board members to attend the Saskatchewan Catholic School Boards Association annual general meeting in Regina on Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28.

Holy Family will be announcing their mill rates on Wednesday, April 25 and their next board meeting will be Wednesday, May 9.
