Mental Health Week will be celebrated across Canada, starting on Monday, April 30, running until Friday, May 4. Here in Weyburn, it will begin with a proclamation and ribbon cutting at the Canadian Mental Health Association office at 404 Ashford Street at 10 a.m. with Mayor Debra Button. The week will continue to be celebrated, with the annual Mayor's Luncheon on Tuesday, May 1, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at McKenna Hall. The theme this year is 'Work - Life Balance: It's a Matter of Time" with guest speaker Kathleen Thompson. Tickets to the Mayor's Luncheon must be arranged through the Canadian Mental Health Association office in Weyburn before Monday, April 30. It is $15 per ticket or $100 for a table of eight. Then on Wednesday, May 2, there will be "Come and Go Tea and Bake Sale" from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Community Resource Centre at 404 Ashford Street. Residents are invited to drop by and visit and learn more about the Canadian Mental Health Association. |
