'People, plants and pride' kicks off cleanup campaign

Members of City council and their family get together to show their pride for Weyburn by planting a couple of begonias and geraniums in the planters in front of City Hall on Saturday. Last year, through Communities in Bloom, the downtown planters were filled with flowers from Prairie Greenhouse as each planter was adopted by a Weyburn business to take care of. This year, the Clean-Up Campaign is centered around 'People, Plants and Pride: Growing Together', and residents are encouraged to think of how they can incorporate plants into beautifying Weyburn. These green-thumbed volunteers, from left to right, are Councillor Dave Craigen, Community Services Manager Doug Mulhall, Councillor Dick Michel, City Manager Bob Smith, Councillor Rob Stephanson, Kyla Lonechild, Dakota Lonechild, Mayor Debra Button and Ryley Button.
