Logan Faber returned from the National Youth Bowling Championship last week and described his fourth place finish as "a good accomplishment." This was Faber's second trip to the nationals in the junior boys singles five-pin division, placing last in his first attempt. He felt this year he got down early, but battled back to miss the medals by only two points. "I think I was rusty at the start, but I got better near the end," Faber said. Faber struggled on May 12, winning two matches out of six and he won six out of 11 matches on May 13. With the support of his family, Faber pulled off a miraculous final day on May 14, winning six out of his last seven matches to jump from eighth to fourth place. The only match Faber lost on May 14 was against the gold-medal winning Quebec competitor. In that match, Faber only lost by a head pin which could have put him even closer to the medals. "I didn't do well in the games that I should have won," Faber said. Overall Faber enjoyed his experience and made a lot of new friends not only in the junior division, but in the five-pin senior division as well. Faber's results can be viewed at www.bpac.ca. |
