Preparing for the Wheat Festival

Ashley Betker, one of two tour guides at Weyburn's Heritage Village, demonstrates a butter churn while enjoying the sunshine outside at the village on Wednesday. She and the volunteers of the village will have a full schedule of events on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 10 and 11, including rope-making, ice cream making, blacksmithing, sheep-herding and kite-making, among other activities. The People Mover can bring Wheat Fest goers to and from the village as well, with activities going on at Signal Hill, River Park and the Knox Hall.

Taking a look at the Souris River dam

Children and leaders in Signal Hill's summer program stop on the bridge to take a look at the dam used by the City of Weyburn to monitor the flow of water of the Souris River into Nickle Lake. The group was taking a nature hike and doing a scavenger hunt as they walked through the Tatagwa Parkway on Wednesday, stopping for a picnic snack in River Park before making the full circuit back to Signal Hill.
