Weather in the Weyburn area started to get cooler, as average temperatures dropped slightly and one record low was broken by the city in the month of August. On Aug. 24, the temperature dropped to 3.0 degrees, which broke the previous record low of 4.0 degrees set in 1956, 1958 and 1979. This was not the coldest day of the month either, as that was on Aug. 29 when the temperature dropped to 2.5 degrees. The average low temperature for the month was 11.03 degrees, which was close to the long-term average of 11.01 degrees. The average high temperature for the month was 24.95 degrees, which was lower than the long-term average of 26.15 degrees. The highest temperature of the month was on Aug. 31, when the temperature rose to 34.0 degrees. The mean temperature for the month was 17.99 degrees, lower than the long-term average of 18.58 degrees. The city received a total of 46.2 mm of precipitation in August, close to the long-term average of 47.3 degrees. The summer weather comparison for Weyburn for 2007 is as follows. For June, it was slightly cooler and dryer, as the mean temperature in 2006 was 17.5 degrees compared to a mean temperature of 17.3 degrees in 2007, and there was 132.4 mm of precipitation in 2006 compared to 111.0 mm in 2007. In July, it was slightly warmer and wetter this year, as the mean temperature in 2006 was 21.5 degrees compared to a mean temperature of 22.9 degrees in 2007, and there was 19.6 mm of precipitation in 2006 compared to 28 mm in 2007. For August, it was slightly cooler and dryer this year, as the mean temperature in 2006 was 19.7 degrees compared to a mean temperature of 18 degrees in 2007, and there was 56.2 mm of precipitation in 2006 compared to 46.2 mm in 2007. |
