Drivers take part in two race days

Local race car drivers were down at the Estevan Motor Speedway on Saturday and Sunday to compete at the Thunder City Doubleheader races.

In the Hobby Stock class, Lindsey LaBatte placed seventh as she did not finish heat two.

LaBatte continued to struggle to keep her car running in the Hobby Stock feature race, placing 14th over with another DNF.

In the IMCA Modified class, Ed Bourassa finished third, Owen Bourassa of Radville placed fourth and Kelly Bauman placed fifth in heat one. Bauman went on to place fourth in the Modified B main event to transfer to the feature race.

Ed Bourassa led the way for local drivers in the Modified feature by finishing in eighth. Owen Bourassa was right behind him in ninth and Bauman did not finish and was 14th overall.

The final race of the season at the Estevan Motor Speedway will be Sunday, Sept. 23, with the Enduro race.
