Details about the Soo Line Highway Corridor Association and their promotion to twin Highways 39 and 6 from the U.S. Border to Regina will be the focus of the next Chamber of Commerce member breakfast, on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 7:30 a.m. at the Weyburn Travelodge banquet room. "I think it is important to all businesses in the Weyburn area to understand the potential economical factor of the twinning project, and learn all the facts about the project," said Chamber manager Jeff Richards. The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce offers this breakfast free of charge to Chamber members and their guests, with the Sept. 26 breakfast being sponsored by the Weyburn Co-op. To reserve a seat at the breakfast, business members are asked to contact the Chamber office. Board members of the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce are reminded about the upcoming board meeting, on Wednesday, Oct. 3. The Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce president Dave Dutchak and new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Steve McLellan will be attending this board meeting. Richards said they "will be addressing the chamber board with a new strategic plan." The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce is already making plans for Farmer Appreciation Night, which will be held sometime in November. Nominations for the Golden Sheaf Award are now being accepted, as this award is presented annually by the Chamber to a recipient who exemplifies excellence in farming achievement and citizenship. Visit the Chamber of Commerce website at www.weyburnchamber.com to download a nomination form. Nominations for the Golden Sheaf Award must be received by the Chamber office by Wednesday, November 7. More information on the date of Farmer Appreciation Night, including guest speakers and event details, will be later provided. |
