Creelman Pumpkin Festival on October 27

The Creelman annual pumpkin festival will be taking place at the Creelman Hall on Saturday, Oct. 27, starting at 7 p.m. There will be plenty of activities for families, with children of all ages eligible to win prize money by entering the classes.

Classes include pumpkin pie, pumpkin loaf, any pumpkin dessert, Halloween decorated cakes, Jack O'Lanterns, decorated pumpkins (painted), decorated pumpkins (any way), scarecrow (any size), vegetable novelty, heaviest pumpkin, biggest potato (by weight), longest carrot, heaviest zucchini, heaviest squash (any kind), tallest sunflower, Halloween costume (please wear) and an open class for heaviest pumpkin.

With the exception of the open class for heaviest pumpkin, the prize money for all classes is $3 for first, $2 for second and $1 for third. Entries into the open class for heaviest pumpkin can't be entered into any other class, and prize money is $25 for first, $15 for second and $10 for third.

Everyone is invited to participate and entries are to arrive to the Creelman Hall by 7 p.m. There will be also games for kids, including a guessing game of the weight of a pumpkin, and it is an excellent opportunity to wear your Halloween costume.

Admission to the pumpkin festival is $5 for family, $2 for adults and $1 for students. For more information contact the Creelman Agriculture Society.
