Making balloon animals

Violet the Clown makes balloon animals for the children following the Kids Time segment of the United Way Communithon Saturday at the Comp Cafetorium. Children took part in fun activities during Kids Time by donating a handful of change to the Communithon. In the end, the United Way surpassed their goal of $122,007 by raising $122,517 just before they went off the air.

Erickson picks up first win in goal

Tanner Erickson of the Weyburn Red Wings stops a Yorkton Terriers scoring opportunity with the help of defenceman Kyle Haines on Friday night at the Colosseum. In his first start in goal for the Red Wings, Erickson made 28 saves to pick up a 7-2 win. Haines pitched in with a four point night with one goal and three assists. Weyburn's next game will be Friday, Oct. 26, at 7:30 p.m. at the Colosseum against the Flin Flon Bombers. The Wings will have a neutral site game at Radville at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, against the Notre Dame Hounds.
