Last step to perfect pizzas

Taylor Grams and Olivia Lenferna add the last touches to perfect pizzas, the cheese, in the St. Dominic gym on Sunday. There were at least 75 people from both St. Dominic and St. Michael schools helping create pizzas in the gym that afternoon, volunteering to help complete the order of 2,100 pizzas sold for their fundraiser. The sale of pizzas is the primary fundraiser of the School Community Council for the schools, to help buy playground equipment and library books at the schools.

War Mother remembers her son

Emma Eberhardt looks at a photo of her son Arnold, taken late in his life, at her home in Lang. Arnold served in the Second World War, and later came home to live with his mother in 1961, working as a finish carpenter until he had a stroke; he died of a second stroke about four years ago. Emma has been chosen as the War Mother for the Remembrance Day ceremonies for the Weyburn Legion this year, and on Sunday, Nov. 11, she will lay a wreath in memory of her son at the Cenotaph in Memorial Park. Last year, she had been chosen as the War Mother for the Remembrance Day ceremonies in Yellow Grass. For related feature story check out the November 7 issue of the Weyburn Review.
