Plans are underway for the 54th annual Festival of Carols to be held on Sunday, Dec. 2, under the sponsorship of the Weyburn Quota Club.

Each year the festival helps kick off the Christmas season with music from church, community and school choirs.

Grace United Church has provided the venue for the Festival, with both afternoon and evening programs beginning with an organ-piano prelude and community singing of carols led by members of the Quota Club. The afternoon program begins at 2 p.m. and the evening one is at 7 p.m.

Entries are being accepted by phoning Linda Banerjee or Joyce Kellett in Weyburn, and the deadline for entries is Tuesday, Nov. 20.

Choirs and groups from both the city and outside the city are welcome, and organizers with Quota hope to have a good number of entries to fill both programs.
