Congratulating her uncle on election win

Brooke Alexander passes on her congratulations to her uncle, Dustin Duncan, for being re-elected as the MLA for Weyburn-Big Muddy in a landslide victory on Wednesday evening, as Kevin Lackey and Winston Bailey watch. Duncan handily won his seat with 60.5 per cent of the vote or 4,902 ballots, with the NDP's Sharon Elliott a distant second with 2,026, Colleen Christopherson-Cote of the Liberals third with 1,003 votes, and Al Birchard of the Green Party last with 157 votes. Provincially, the Sask Party won a majority government with 37 seats to 21 for the NDP, and the Liberals were again shut out of the Legislature.

Filling boxes for Operation Christmas Child

Students from Grades 2 and 6 look through a supplies table as they fill up shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child on Thursday at Assiniboia Park School. Around the table, going clockwise from left, are Walker Happ, Jared Weckend, Haley Stearns, Ethan White, Jaxon Marshall, Jay Hopfe, Cayden Postnikoff and Troy Brock. The classes were able to get in their pile of boxes in time for the deadline which was on Saturday, to give the charity time to be able to ship the boxes to Third World countries in time for Christmas.
