Students from Assiniboia Park Elementary School show
their Rider pride on Thursday, with students Gage Tyhy and Nicholas
Lumb in front holding a pretend Grey Cup. The Saskatchewan Riders
faced off against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Sunday in the
Grey Cup game, with many fans from Saskatchewan cheering on the
team. Rider Nation roared with cheers after the Riders took the
Grey Cup, with a score of 23-19, affecting many communities across
the province. Winnipeg had an early lead in the Grey Cup, after
a field goal and two safety points given to them from Saskatchewan,
then a Rider touchdown tied the game with a field goal giving
Saskatchewan the lead at half-time. It then became a back and
forth game in the second half, with another field goal by the
Riders, a touchdown by Winnipeg, and a third field goal by the
Riders in the third quarter. It was a convert touchdown for Saskatchewan
that seemed to turn the game, as Winnipeg was unable to come
back even after a field goal and another safety. This led to
the the third Grey Cup win for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. |
