Graham DeLaet's struggles continued on the Gateway Golf Tour Winter Series this past week as he finished in a tie for 26th place in the third tournament, picking up a cheque for $1,325.62. "I have been rusty," said DeLaet. "I'll have a good 16 or 17 holes in a round, then I have a bad swing or two out of nowhere." After shooting an even par in his first round, DeLaet shot an one-under-par 70 to move into a tie for 30th place on the leaderboard. He was one-under-par on the front nine and was able to recover from a double bogey on hole 14 to go even par on the back nine. He finished the tournament one-under-par after shooting an even par 71 in the final round to place in a tie for 26th. DeLaet shot three birdies and three bogies on the front nine for an even 36 and notched two birdies and two bogies on the back nine for an even 35. "It was more of the same. My score just looked better because this wasn't a tough as the other courses," DeLaet said. "I had made some dumb mental mistakes out there." DeLaet is back home at his residence in Boise, Idaho currently working out the kinks in his game and trying to avoid the one or two bad swings that have been cost him tournaments. The fourth tournament of the Gateway Tour Winter Series takes place from Monday, Feb. 5, to Wednesday, Feb. 7, in Litchfield Park, Ariz. |
