at the Grey Cup

Seth Purdue and Jarret Hayward take a look at the Grey Cup, during a public viewing at the Weyburn Colosseum on January 29. Joining the Grey Cup were Saskatchewan Roughriders Jeremy O'Day, Scott Schultz, Marcus Adams and Mike McCullough. Weyburn Tourism had arranged the visit from the 2007 Grey Cup champions to the city, with residents having the opportunity to get pictures and autographs.

Plotting to sink a battleship

Grade 6 students Jane Kish and Jerred Erb work on sinking each other's battleships as they spend a recess time in the classroom on Wednesday at Queen Elizabeth School. With temperatures in the -30s range with a high wind chill, school buses didn't run, and for this school, many students stayed at home. Those who did attend were kept in at recess due to the high wind chill values. Most small town schools were closed during the coldest days of the cold snap.
