Sr. Beavers to instruct area youth in baseball programs

The Weyburn Senior Beavers will be bringing top-notch baseball instruction to Weyburn and area youth during the months of June and July. Beavers coaches and players are planning to undertake some initiatives to provide instruction through Weyburn Beaver Youth Camps and Weyburn Beavers Player Development Programs.

The Weyburn Beaver Youth Camps will cater to ages seven to 11, with participants being grouped according to age. In these youth camps, Beavers coaches and players will instruct in hitting, pitching, catching, base running, infield and outfield play, and many other aspects of baseball. Each day will include three to four instructional hours, with the camps lasting for a full week.

The Weyburn Beavers Player Development Program is for players aged 11 to 17, with participants being grouped according to age. Beavers coaches and players will develop training sessions for individuals and small groups of players that want more in-depth training that is otherwise not available in Weyburn.

There will also be individual pitching programs and hitting lessons offered, with one-on-one sessions between Beaver players and staff and the individuals in the program. Each training session will be approximately one hour in length.

For details on programs or to sign up, contact Weyburn Senior Beaver executive president Garnet Hansen.
