Chamber to give Golden Spike at President's dinner

The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce will be presenting the Golden Spike Award at their President's Dinner, and annual general meeting, on Tuesday, Feb. 26. The banquet starts at 6 p.m. and will be held at the El Rancho Banquet Room.

The Golden Spike is a prestigious award given annually to "someone who has made an outstanding contribution to our community through the years preceding the date of the award," said Jeff Richard, Weyburn Chamber of Commerce manager.

The last day to nominate someone is tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 21. Nomination forms are still available from the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce office or are downloadable from the Chamber website.

During the annual meeting portion of the evening, Steve McLellan, CEO of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce, and Dave Dutchak, president of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce, will be presenting the provincial Chamber's growth strategy for the province.

"The evening is promising to be very entertaining and informative," said Richards. Those interested in attending should contact the Chamber office.
