'Evening of Culture' to be presented by Ag. Society

The Weyburn Agricultural Society is preparing to present the fifth annual dinner theatre, entitled "An Evening of Culture", written by Mark Landon Smith.

"An Evening of Culture" is the long-awaited sequel to the popular Faith Country, which the Weyburn Ag. Society put on in 2005.

In the sequel, the Community Theatre of Mineola County decides to produce Romeo and Juliet. The play follows through all the difficulties for the locals of Mineola County, including cast members not having their lines memorized, the set not being finished and a dog keeps barking offstage. In the end, no matter what the obstacles, the cast of Mineola County stays dedicated to their performance.

Performing in this year's dinner theatre are Pat May (Ruthann Barnes), Jay Mowchenko (Bubba Bedford), James Brackpool (Luther Carson), Sandy Bell (Naomi Louise Farkie Carson), Amanda Duncan (Faye McFaye), Rae Keefe (director Violet Farkle) and Derrell Rodine (set designer Delbert Fink).

This year's Weyburn Ag. Society dinner theatre will be presented on Thursday to Saturday, March 13, 14 and 15, at the Weyburn Legion Hall. All three evenings will have cocktails at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. and entertainment at 8 p.m. Advance tickets to the performances are available at the Weyburn Legion and cost $25. There will also be a dessert matinee, held on Sunday, March 16 at 2 p.m. Matinee tickets cost $10.

For more information on the dinner theatre, contact Sandy Bell at the Ag. Society.
