Atom WIT Wings capture B-side final at Black Aces

The Atom WIT Wings were the B-side winners at the Saskatoon Black Aces Tournament this past weekend.

The Wings traveled to Saskatoon on Friday and played their first game against the Swift Current Broncos, winning 6-1. Jack Flaman picked up a hat trick as well as player of the game.

Other goal scorers for Weyburn were Delaney Frey, Cameron Evans and Tylar Fox. Assisting on these goals were Logan Leslie, Regan Nagy with three, Tanner Herlick, Kolin Piwarski and Cameron Evans.

The Wings lost their first game on Saturday against the Wild Havrs 5-1. Regan Nagy scored Weyburn's lone goal, assisted by Scott Jones and Jack Flaman. Scott Jones picked up the player of the game award.

The second game on Saturday was a well played game against the Saskatoon Aces, where Weyburn defeated them 8-4. Cameron Evan picked up the hat trick as well as player of the game.

Scott Jones scored two goals, with Harley Johnston, Cole Rooney and Kolin Piwarski all adding singles. Picking up assists were Kolin Piwarski, Tylar Fox, Logan Leslie, Drew Fellner and Delaney Frey.

On Sunday, the team was on fire again, beating the Sask. Rangers 5-1. Braeden Pyne was the player of the game.

Scoring for Weyburn was Regan Nagy, Drew Fellner, Tanner Herlick, Cameron Evans and Jack Flaman. Assisting on these goals were Harley Johnston, Kolin Piwarski and Regan Nagy picked up three.

With the win, the Wings moved on to the B-side final where they beat the Southeast Rangers 3-1. Regan Nagy picked up the player of the game award.

Cameron Evans, Scott Jones and Jack Flaman were the goal scorers for Weyburn, while Kolin Piwarski, Tylar Fox and Regan Nagy picked up the assists.

The next action for the Wings will be on Saturday, March 15, when they travel to Yorkton for their first playoff game of the league championship, game two will be in Weyburn at the Sports Arena on Sunday, March 16.
