The Weyburn Atom WIT Wings closed out their season this past weekend losing in the B-side final at a tournament in Yorkton.

The Wings lost their first game to the Sask. Rangers 5-2 with Regan Nagy and Kolin Piwarski picking up goals. Assists went to Logan Leslie, Tylar Fox and Cameron Evans. Nicholas Cuthbert had a great game in net despite the loss.

In the second game, the Wings defeated the Yorkton Cardinals 8-0. Scoring for Weyburn were Regan Nagy with a hat trick, Tanner Herlick with two, Cameron Evans, Kolin Piwarski and Drew Fellner each with one.

Getting two assists each were Delaney Frey, Jack Flaman, Tanner Herlick, while Jarrett Metheral, Cameron Evans, Scott Jones and Kassidy Sjostrand each helped out with singles. Nicholas Cuthbert picked up the shutout.

The third game was played Saturday against the Estevan Bruins and the Wings picked up a 5-3 win. Scoring for the Wings were Regan Nagy with two, Scott Jones, Jack Flaman and Tanner Herlick each with singles.

Getting assists were Regan Nagy with two, Cole Rooney and Jarrett Metheral with one each. Braeden Pyne had a great game in net. This game advanced the Wings to the B-side final on Sunday.

The Wings came up against their league rivals, the Yorkton KMX Terriers, and lost 3-2. Scoring for Weyburn were Delaney Frey and Logan Leslie. Assists went to Tanner Herlick and Brandt Hudson. Nicholas Cuthbert was in net for the Wings.

The WIT Wings' season has now come to an end after a very successful year. They were the 2007 Estevan Tournament champs, 2007 Western Prospects Challenge A-side finalists and were the B-side champions at the 2008 Saskatoon Black Aces Tournament.
