Annual Bowl for Kids' Sake taking place April 12

Weyburn Big Brothers and Big Sisters will be holding their 13th annual Bowl of Kids' Sake fundraiser on Saturday, April 12, at the Super Bowl.

Bowling times will be 6:45 to 7:45 p.m., 8 to 9 p.m. and 9:15 to 10:15 p.m. This year's theme is "Back to the 80s." Two of the three time slots are already full.

"Everything is full except for our very last time slot," said executive director Marie Ballenas-Wanner.

Teams of four to six bowlers can enter with each bowler raising a minimum of $50 in pledges. There are 20 teams and one sponsored team already registered with nine spots still open.

Prizes will be given out for the best dressed team at each session, the individual who raises the most money and for the team the recruits the most other teams.

Snacks and refreshments will be available and a silent auction will be taking place during the event. All of the money raised will go back into the Weyburn Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs.

"It is our only fundraiser of the year as we are part of the United Way," Ballenas-Wanner said. "It is important that the event is a success because our budget depends on it."
