Comp students set to graduate on June 26

Weyburn graduates attending the Comprehensive High School will be celebrating their graduation on Thursday, June 26. The event starts at 2 p.m. with a punch reception in the Comp library courtyard, which is open to the public.

At 2:45 p.m., the grads gather for a group photo. This session is closed to the public until after the photo has been taken.

Ceremonies start at 4 p.m. in the Comp gymnasium; each grad receives two reserved seats for parents. All other seats are rush seating for the general public.

Following the ceremonies, events move over to the Weyburn Curling Rink, where starting at 6:15 p.m., there will be a pit barbecue for invited guests. After the supper, there will be a small ceremony at 8:15 p.m. This is open to the public, but seating is reserved for supper guests only. The evening ends with a dance at 9 p.m. and the Chem Free Grad follows from midnight to 5 a.m. After grad events include a hypnotist, games, prizes and food. The after-grad is only open to graduates and their guests.

There will be a rehearsal of the grad on Wednesday, June 25. Every grad is required to attend the rehearsal; it starts at 1:15 p.m. and runs until 3 p.m. At the end of rehearsal, students giving speeches are to remain to deliver them to Brenda King and Joanne Jensen. Students must pick up their caps and gowns, and take their grad clothing to the curling rink before 5 p.m.
