Bake sale for the Humane Society

Students from the Grade 4/5 class choose their favourite examples of baking put on sale by the Grade 6 class as a fundraiser for the Weyburn Humane Society at Queen Elizabeth School on May 6. The Grade 4/5 students at left include Laurel Oberkirsch, Sabrina Mainil and Ashton Kuffner, while at right are Grade 6 students Gracyn Kravanya, Tori Maurer, Fallon Gaab and Jane Kish. The Grade 6 class raised a total of $407.70 for the Humane Society.

Delivering the pitch

Pitcher Trenton Kauf comes out of his windup to deliver his pitch, during the first of a doubleheader that pitted his Peewee Youngfellows against the visiting Pilot Butte on Saturday at Jubilee Park. The Youngfellows initially trailed Pilot Butte, but in the bottom of the sixth inning they tied the game up at 6-6 with a strong six-run rally.
