Hitting the first loop

Kody Thue of Radville prepares to throw his loop after his team-roping partner Cody Resch of Leader landed his loop on the head of the steer in the team-roping event, during the Weyburn Wrangler and High School Rodeo on Sunday at the Weyburn exhibition grounds. Around 150 contestants from around Saskatchewan ranging from Grades 6 up to 12 converged on Weyburn for the two-day high school rodeo, with participants earning points towards taking part in the provincial high school finals this summer.

Throwing together a hotdog

Great Plains Mustangs team members work in an assembly line to put together a hotdog during the team's Relay For Life barbecue fundraiser at Great Plains Ford on Thursday. From left to right are Carolyn Barsness, Crystal Tosczak, Melissa Irwin, Kerri Robins and Lindsay Watson. Relay For Life takes place on Friday, May 30, starting at 7 p.m. at River Park and wraps up on Saturday, May 31. All proceeds from Relay For Life go to the Canadian Cancer Society for education material and cancer research.
