The finalists for the 2008 WEYBEX Awards were announced on Friday by the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce.

There will be six awards presented this year, in the following categories.

The Golden Service Award, sponsored by Cogent Business Consulting, has the following finalists: McKenna Hall, Redcoat Chrysler, and Stagecoach Bus Tours and Charters.

For the Community Involvement Award, which is sponsored by SaskEnergy, the following are the finalists: Weyburn Credit Union, Weyburn Young Fellows Club, and United Centrifuge.

The finalists for the New or Expanded Business Award, sponsored by Sunrise Community Futures, are Odyssey Environmental, Goldenwest Radio, and Western Prospects Hockey Centre.

For the Business Hall of Fame award, sponsored by New Age Electronics, the finalists are Hillview Sales and Service, and Great Plains Ford.

The Business Leader of the Year Award, sponsored by EnCana, has one nominee, Brad Stewart of Stewart Steel.

The Business of the Year Award, sponsored by the Weyburn Co-op, will be presented to one of the winners of the above awards.

The WEYBEX Awards are a celebration of business excellence in Weyburn, and this year's edition is the third time the awards will be presented.

The WEYBEX Awards will be presented on Friday, June 13 at McKenna Hall, and tickets for the awards gala are available from the Chamber office.
