Nickle Lake Regional Park

Nickle Lake Regional Park, considered by many Weyburn area residents (and visitors!) to be a local fishing and recreational gem, offers a sparkling choice of first-class summer activities for everyone.

Boating, fishing, swimming and camping are among the relaxing pastimes anyone can enjoy during a stay at the park, conveniently located just a short 10-minute drive southeast from Weyburn on Highway 39.

Spacious grounds, a beach, toddlers playground, family picnic areas and volleyball facilities provide plenty of opportunities for visitors to spend some time in the sun.

Other recreational features include a canteen and snack bar, ball diamond, playground, paddling pool and even miniature golf. Two boat launches and a floating dock help keep the boat enthusiasts coming back, and paddle boats are also available for rent down at the beach.

Campers and park visitors can also enjoy beach volleyball, horseshoes or lunch at the concession.

A number of fishing derbies will be held during the summer and there will be a softball tournament in July. Ice fishing is also a popular pastime on the lake in the winter months.

In addition, there are 126 campsites available for use at Nickle Lake. These include 40 full-service sites, 88 electrical sites (20 of those with 30-amp power) and 26 tenting sites.

Seasonal passes are $20 while day passes to the park are just $6. For information on camping rates, people can contact the park office at 842-7522.
