The Chris Knox Foundation facilitates opportunities for children and young adults, up to the age of 30, who are currently in cancer treatment, remission or palliative care. The Foundation gives these children and young adults the opportunity to attend sporting, cultural or fine arts events within the province of Saskatchewan.
Named after Christopher Aaron Knox, who was born on Sept. 14, 1983 in Weyburn and later moved to Regina where he attended Ruth Pawson School. Growing up Chris had a very focused athlete and very competitive; he loved playing soccer, baseball and basketball. Even though he was smaller than most of his teammates, he had a very determined heart.
When Chris began high school at Robert Usher his focus became football. He played for both the Regina Minor Football League and for his school. He had a passion for life and an infectious spirit that lives on in everyone who had met him.
It was this heart, passion and spirit during his battle with cancer that inspired the Chris Knox Foundation.
