A member of Parliament, Stephen Woodworth, has a private member’s bill proposing to give the human fetus legal standing in Canadian law.
Under current law, the unborn has no recognition as a person until fully born. This dates back hundreds of years, before science proved that 100 per cent of what we are is contained in our DNA at the time of conception. The only things that change are our size and level of independence.
Apparently to recognize the obvious, that is, a fully-formed baby is as fully human a second before birth as it is a second after, causes Canadians to ask why we have zero protection for the unborn.

Banishment of capital punishment for even the most heinous crimes is believed to separate us from the barbaric countries. Yet Canada stands alone for rights of the unborn.
It is time we deal with a truth, a truly inconvenient truth, that human life does not begin once we are separated from our mother’s body.
