Big Brothers to hold ‘Bowl for Kids Sake’

The team at Big Brothers Big Sister of Weyburn are getting ready for their 17th annual Bowl for Kids Sake and Silent Auction. The event is set to take place on April 21 at the Weyburn Super Bowl and Back alley Lounge.

The non-profit organization is encouraging business, families and groups of friends to put together teams to enter this year’s event. For entrants, bowling expertise is not necessary as bowlers of all ages and abilities are welcome to take part. Bowling times are 6:30-7:30 p.m., 7:45-8:45 p.m., and 9-10 p.m., participants are encouraged to reserve their time as soon as possible.

Each team will consist of four to six bowlers with each bowler raising a minimum of $50 in pledges. This year’s theme is “Movie Madness”, so those taking part are encouraged to come and bowl dressed as their favourite movie character.

Locals can also come to take part in the events silent auction. This year’s items include one return trip for two to any scheduled WestJet destination, WestJet Vacations, code share and charter flights exempt, a four-night stay at the Fairmount Mayakoba in Playa Del Carmen , Mexico and a litany of items from Weyburn’s business community.

This is Big Brothers Big Sisters of Weyburn only fundraiser of the year, so the group encourages the people of Weyburn to “come out and enjoy a fun evening all the while supporting Weyburn’s children, youth and families.”

To register, e-mail bigbro....@sasktel.net or call Sharla Zidkovich at the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Weyburn office.
