Linda Marlene Chmarney(Cummings). March 7,1950-April 4,2012 Linda was born March 7, 1950 in Quill Lake to Reg and Marge Cummings. She grew up on the family farm in the Bradburn School District and moved to Quill Lake with her family as a teenager. In 1967 she completed a cosmetology course in Saskatoon. Linda married Paul Chmarney in 1968 and had two children, Jeffrey(1970)and Leah(1971). Paul and Linda built a home in Sutherland in Saskatoon and lived there until they decided to move to the farm in 1980. Linda completed her GED in Saskatoon and obtained a certificate in Office Education at St. Peters collegiate in Muenster (1993). In 1980 Paul and Linda purchased the Weibe farm south of Quill Lake as they wanted to raise their children on the farm and closer to their families. Linda moved to Watson in 1990 after her children graduated high school. Mom had many Jobs in Both communities. She worked in Quill Lake at the Library, Variety store, Hotel and Restaurant. She worked in Watson at the Motor Inn, T.C enterprises, Mcnab Park and most recently Central Massage Therapy Center. She also worked for Micheal industries in St Gregor, and the Junction Gas station in Dafoe. Mom spent many hours volunteering in Quill Lake in support of the Goose Fest and various sports committees. Mom would always say that the two things she was most proud of in her life were her two children. She had many close friends and co-workers, but none closer and dearer to her than her Sister Leona. Linda and Leona grew up together, raised their children together, shared hobbies, interests, love and laughter together. Mom enjoyed life on the farm and always had a passion for horses. Mom especially enjoyed family get togethers and the time she spent with her two grandchildren Little Dumplin(Erica) and Big Dumplin(Kendra). Mom was a kind and modest person who was more than willing to give anyone in need a hand. We would always say she had the gift of the gab and could make anyone she met feel like a great friend in a very short time. Mom passed peacefully with her family at her side after a long battle with lung cancer at St Pauls Palliative Care unit in Saskatoon. Mom’s positive attitude on life touched everyone, including her medical team throughout her illness. Mom was a very inspirational person who will be deeply missed by her family, friends and anyone she came in contact with. Linda was predeceased by her father and mother Reg and Marge Cummings. Linda leaves behind her two children Jeff, Leah(Rod), two grandchildren Kendra and Erica, her sister Leona(Morris) Bunyan, nephew Marlon Bunyan, niece Lori(Howard), Justin, Trina, Dawson Knackstedt, aunt Dorothy Johnston and family, Paul and Leona Chmarney and many friends. We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all of the family and fiends for their love and support during moms illness and a special thank you to moms medical team of doctors nurses and staff. We would like to extend a special thank you to the palliative care nurses at St Pauls hospital as well. A memorial graveside service was held Thursday April 12 at the Quill Lake Cemetary.
