Dayton Picard and Sean Whelan are the latest Bruins prospects to sign with the team. Both are '94-borns from the Moose Jaw Generals.
Picard, a native of Stoughton, is a skilled centre who got into three games with the Bruins last year. He scored 20 goals and 38 points in 43 games with Moose Jaw, and led the team in scoring in the playoffs with seven points.
Here's an interview I did with Picard at the conclusion of last month's spring camp:
Whelan, meanwhile, is a defenceman from Moose Jaw who was a standout at fall camp last year and is considered one of the team's top D prospects. Whelan had a shot at making the Bruins last year but chose to return to the Generals. He had 12 goals and 26 points in 39 games this year.
By the way, if I'm not mistaken, last year's Moose Jaw team had eight Bruins prospects on it.
Keith Cassidy said there likely won't be any more signings until Friday.
