Although it was a cold, rainy day, people still went out walking.
The Saskatchewan Blue Cross MS Walk was held on May 27. The walk started at St. Augustine Church, made a loop around a portion of the city and ended back at the church.
“It went really well,” said Amanda Lupin, organizer of the walk.
Around 60 walkers raised about $14,000 for MS research.
“We had less participants but received more from (per person),” said Lupin.
Last year, the walk raised about $16,000, but there were about 100 participants.
Lupin came into organizing the walk blind, she explained, after past organizers of the Humboldt walk stepped down.
“We started from scratch this year,” said Lupin. “It was the first time for everything.”
Although it was a tough start, she said it was a success.
“It went really well,” said Lupin.
