Battlefords man sentenced for Saskatoon attacks

A Battlefords-area man was sentenced Friday in connection to two attacks in Saskatoon.

Josiah Blackplume was sentenced in Saskatoon provincial court to four years in jail for robbery, uttering threats and sexual assault in connection to two separate attacks on women.

One attack took place on the Meewasin Trail while the sexual assault took place on the University of Saskatchewan campus.

In addition to the four years in prison, Blackplume has been put on the national sex offender registry and has been banned from possessing a firearm for 10 years.
