With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ronald Edward Pederson, late of Weyburn. Ron passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the age of 73 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Palmer and Sophie Pederson and his brother, Earl. Ron is survived by his son, Gordon (Maureen) Pederson of Ottawa, ON; grandson, Connor Pederson; daughter, Shelly Pederson of Ottawa, ON; brother, Les (Shirley) Pederson of Calgary, AB; sister-in-law, Elaine Pederson of Saskatoon, as well as three nephews and one niece. Ron was born on Febraury 28, 1939 at Talmage and was raised on family farms in the Talmage and Worcester areas. Ron completed his Grade 12 education in Talmage. After he had completed high school he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and his career lasted for three and a half years. The highlight of his career with the Air Force was when he was an honour guard for the visit of Princess Margaret to Canada in 1959 or 1960. He then attended the University of Saskatchewan and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He then began his career in Engineering Sales then moved on to Communication Technology. Ron lived in Ontario and Quebec from 1967 until his return to Weyburn in 1996. He enjoyed watching and participating in many different sports, football, baseball, hockey, golf and curling. He took an interest in politics in recent years and was active in Saskatchewan Party political campaigns. Ron loved to interact with people especially rousing political discussions. In his later years he enjoyed numerous handyman projects and particularly enjoyed furniture repair and refinishing. By the request of Ron there will be no formal service.
