One killed in Highway 40 rollover

One person is dead following a rollover Thursday night on Highway 40 west of the Battlefords.

The single vehicle accident happened at 9:10 p.m. According to WPD Ambulance, the vehicle lost control on the highway and ended up submerged in a body of water.

There were two males injured. One was pronounced dead on the scene while the other was transported to hospital in stable condition.

Emergency personnel that responded to the scene included WPD Ambulance, North Battleford fire and the RCMP. The name of the deceased was not immediately released.

In the wake of the fatality, WPD issued a reminder Friday to urge everyone to drive safe when travelling.
