Youths plead guilty in bear spray attack

Two youths have entered guilty pleas in connection to a bear spray attack on another teenagers on 110th Street in June.

The individuals, ages 15 and 17, cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. They appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court Wednesday.

One pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and breach of undertaking. The other pleaded guilty to aggravated assault.

The guilty pleas are in connection to an attack that took place on two boys age 14 and 16 June 17, with the 16-year old sustaining serious injuries from a beating. The other victim escaped and called for help.

Both youth are due back in provincial court next month for sentencing. A third youth accused in the case, who had been on the run, was recently captured and is due in court Aug. 1.
