Lifting a CP Rail car off the tracks

Review photo 7583 — Greg Nikkel

Tom Pollard, terminal manager for Circle D Transport, centre, watches as two crane trucks lift a rail car off the tracks on Thursday morning to move it over into the yard of the Fire Hall where a set of tracks were set up. The rail car, which weighs about 58,000 pounds and is 60 feet long, was donated to the Weyburn Fire Department by CP Rail, and will be used for training purposes by the Fire Department, to prepare them for emergencies that can arise with rail cars.
