Mayor Debra Button hands in her nomination papers to city clerk Donette Richter, who is also the returning officer for the city municipal election and the Southeast Cornerstone board election. The nomination period opened on Wednesday and will close on Wednesday, Sept. 19, and if there are enough candidates, the municipal election will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 24.
