Taking bids at Festival of Trees

Review photo 8541 — Greg Nikkel

Auctioneer and city councillor Winston Bailey, centre left, takes bids on a Christmas tree during the live auction portion of the Festival of Trees fundraiser on Thursday evening at Barber Motors showroom. The live auction brought in $45,000, and the silent auction items and raffles raised another $15,000, for a grand total of $60,000, the most the fundraiser has ever raised for the Family Place, with some donations still coming in from people who missed the gala evening; the proceeds will help keep the doors open for the facility.
