Lt. Mike Mailman of the Salvation Army announces the winners of the City Hall-Credit Union food bank challenge, while accepting donations from both, along with a $2,000 donation from the CP Rail employees on the Holiday Train on Dec. 17. City Hall won the challenge with 792 pounds of food and cash donations of $10,330; the Credit Union gathered 670 pounds of food and cash donations of $4,000. Converting dollars to pounds of food, Mailman said the Salvation Army received a total of 15,792 pounds of food altogether from the challenge; in addition, spectators to the Holiday Train also brought food donations.
