Parent volunteer Joe Cayen, of the School Community Council for St. Michael School, hands out extra sausages to those who want them in a Grade 5 class on Feb. 12 to supplement the pancake lunch served to all staff and students for Shrove Tuesday. Receiving the sausage is Aiden Krafchuk, while in behind Riley Donison and Kylie Van de Woestyne await their turn. Shrove Tuesday (also known as Pancake Tuesday and Pancake Day) is the day preceding Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Shrove Tuesday is determined by Easter; its date changes annually.
