Graham DeLaet finished strong at the Tampa Bay Championship by tying for 17th.
The former Weyburn golfer earned $79,750 during the tournament and moved a little further in the FedExCup, up to 43rd.
The first round was the highest-scoring round for DeLaet, as he shot 73, two-over-par. He started on the front nine, where he hit bogeys on holes two and five, and a birdie on hole seven.
Then during the back nine, DeLaet hit bogeys on hole 11 and 14, then shot a double bogey on hole 16. He finished the round with a birdie on hole 17 and was on par for hole 18.
DeLaet scored 71 on round two, which was par for the course. He started on the back nine, shooting a bogey on hole 13 and then a double bogey on hole 16, which was the same hole that gave him troubles during the first round.
During the front nine, DeLaet shot a birdie on hole one, then birdies on holes five and seven.
With the cut set at two-above-par after two rounds, DeLaet was just able to make the cut. The only other Canadian to make the cut was Stephen Ames.
DeLaet finally scored below par during round three, when he shot a 70, one-under-par. He started in the front nine, where he shot a bogey on hole three and a birdie on hole five. Then during the back nine, DeLaet hit a birdie on hole 10, a bogey on hole 16 and a birdie on hole 17.
Finally, for the fourth round, DeLaet had his best performance of the tournament by scoring 67, four-under-par.
He started on the front nine, where he had back-to-back birdies on holes one and two. He also shot birdies on holes four and nine, and only one bogey on holey six.
Then during the back nine, DeLaet hit one bogey on hole 10, and stayed mostly on par for the other holes, except for birdies on hole 15 and 18.
DeLaet has competed in eight events during the 2013 PGA Tour. Twice, he has made the top 10, and five times he has made the top 25. DeLaet’s total earnings is $503,674.
The next tournament for DeLaet is the Arnold Palmer invitational in Orlando, Florida. This event will run from Thursday to Sunday, Mar. 21 to 24.
