Christmas is on the mind of the Weyburn Independent Riders, as they have set the date for their annual Toy Run to collect toys and money for the Salvation Army for their Christmas hampers. This year, the Toy Run will be Saturday, Sept. 7.
The annual Toy Run will gather in the parking lot of the Weyburn Junior High, at 12 noon. All motorcycle enthusiasts are welcome to attend.
Santa, his elf and a sleigh will lead off the parade, and the sleigh is the collection point for the toys brought by the riders, or by non-riders who support the event and the Salvation Army.
The parade leaves at 1 p.m., heading north up Fifth Street to Douglas Road, east to 16th Street and south down Railway Avenue. The parade will head north on Second Street over to the Court House, and south on Third Street through the downtown and across the highway to River Park, where the parade will end. All toys and donations will be then presented to the Salvation Army.
