Pangman School plans theatre play

Comments

Our principal surprised us when he announced that the Missoula Children’s Theatre would be coming to our school in March.

They will arrive with a set, lights, costumes, props and make-up for the production of “Alice in Wonderland”. We students become the cast. The grand finale dinner theatre will be Saturday, March 8. Tickets are available at the school.

“Giving Back” and “Charity” were the focal points of our school’s team building assembly in December. Our principal Laury Ryan indicated that the voluntary giving of time, effort or kindness helps create a safe, caring school environment and becomes part of our schools best practices. Briane and Gladys Jesse representing Charity Farms were invited to our assembly.

Charity Farms is the major fundraising venture in support of our school. Mr. Ryan reminded students that our new kitchen, stage, tables and chairs were purchased for us by Charity Farms.

Our Students of the Month for December were Grayson West, Corny Friesen, Lexy Tessier, Hayley Lillejord and Lilia Svedahl.

RCMP officers Todd McInstosh and Harpreet Sigh visited our school on Dec. 16 to talk about pedestrian safety in winter. They reminded us of precautions we all need to keep.

Paul Blankestijn of the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission and Dan Hardern from our school division office came to our school to tell us about careers in the trades and the opportunities our students could have while earning Grade 12 credits.

Our Grade 6 to 8 students attended WE Day in Saskatoon in November. They returned inspired to help children who have never had a chance to go to school. Through a program called “Brick by Brick”, they are raising money to help build  a school in another part of the world.
