Police responded to a call of a disturbance outside a local bar on Sunday. A 27-year-old naked male was vandalizing a vehicle and fighting. The male fled before police arrived but subsequent investigation indicated that the male had attacked a 39-year-old male and beaten him in the men’s washroom inside the bar. The bar owner ejected him from the premises and he then started vandalizing the vehicle in the parking lot. The male was located in the 1200 block of East Avenue and arrested. He was violent and intoxicated, and was charged with assault causing bodily harm, mischief over $5,000 and uttering death threats, and will appear in court later this month.
Police were called to a disturbance at a residence on May 11. A neighbour called the police, stating that a badly-beaten young male was on his front steps bleeding and that it sounded like a female was being beaten next door.
Police attended and arrested a 30-year-old intoxicated male. Subsequent investigation indicated that he had beaten a 24-year-old male after a disagreement inside the residence. The female had not been harmed in any way. The victim was transported to the Weyburn General Hospital by EMS for treatment. The male was charged with assault causing bodily harm and later released for court later this month.
Police received a 9-1-1 call of a fight in the area of North American Lumber on Saturday. Officers responded and determined that a 40-year-old male and a 35-year-old female had an altercation. The intoxicated male left in a vehicle with a young child in it, the intoxicated female pursued. After the vehicles collided with each other, the occupants continued to fight. The female was charged with impaired driving and driving while over .08. The male was charged with impaired driving, driving while over .08, dangerous driving and using an electronic communication device while driving.
Police responded to a domestic dispute on May 5. A 25-year-old female and a 26-year-old male had a fight in which the female may have been assaulted. The complainant did not wish to proceed with charges as such, no criminal charges were laid.
Police received a complaint of a hit and run accident in a city parking lot on May 5. The suspect vehicle had collided with the bumper of a parked vehicle. The accident is under investigation.
Police received a complaint of a vehicle driving erratically in the Riverwood area. A 17-year-old male driver was located and charged with stunting.
Police responded to a domestic between a 55-year-old female and a 58-year-old male on May 7. The female explained she was concerned for her safety and the male didn’t understand why the police were called. The parties were separated; alcohol was a factor in the incident.
A 20-year-old male attended Weyburn Police Service on May 9. He was having a property dispute with his former 19-year-old girlfriend. Police spoke to both parties and the dispute was settled without incident.
An officer saw two youths getting into a vehicle carrying cases of beer on May 9. The vehicle was stopped by police and the driver was found to be impaired. He was arrested for impaired driving and transported to Weyburn Police Service. He was subsequently charged with having the care and control of a vehicle while over .08.
Police responded to a residence where an intoxicated female was banging on the door on Saturday. The female was directed to her own residence, and no charges were laid.
Police responded to a fight at a local bar on Saturday. Everyone was gone when police arrived.
Police responded to another dispute in the area of North American Lumber Saturday. Four males were arguing with each other, officers sent them on their way. No charges were laid in the incident.
Police responded to a party complaint at a residence on Sunday. The homeowner was warned about the noise and he turned the music down.
