Toronto FC signs defender Darren O'Dea who started with Glasgow Celtic

TORONTO - Toronto FC has signed Irish international defender Darren O'Dea.

O'Dea, 25, began his youth career with Glasgow Celtic FC and made his team debut for Celtic in September 2006.

At Celtic, O'Dea won the Scottish Premier League twice along with the Scottish Cup in 2008 and the Scottish League Cup in 2009.

The team did not release details of O'Dea's contract and says he'll be added to the roster upon receipt of his international transfer certificate.
