The Weyburn Police Service have recovered power tools along with some hand tools in a stolen vehicle, and would like the public's help in identifying them so they could be returned to the rightful owners. The tools are believed to have been taken in December 2013 from a vehicle or garage in and around the Weyburn area. If you are missing any tools please contact the Weyburn Police Service.
Police received a report of items being stolen out of a commercial property yard on Mar. 25. Stolen were a computer and printer; police are still investigating and are following up several leads to this theft.
Police were called to a local hotel for a report of a loud party on Mar. 23. Police spoke with a male subject and the party was shut down.
Police would like to remind people that they could be charged under the noise bylaw when a complaint comes in to police. Fines can range from $250 to $1,000, or a court appearance may be required.
Police responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in the north part of the city on Mar. 23; upon arrival it was found that a female had thrown boiling water on another adult male. The 26-year-old female was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon; she will appear in court Apr. 15.
Police responded to an accident on 18th Street on Mar. 23, when a female driver became distracted while driving and struck a parked vehicle on the street. There were no injuries but the female's vehicle had to be towed and she was charged with driving with undue care and attention.
Police responded to a report of a fight in a bar on Mar. 26. Upon arrival police found one of the people causing problems and he was removed from the business and left with people who would make sure he would not return. The other person was never identified, and no charges were laid.
Police were called to a fight at a local bar on Mar. 29. Investigation showed that two males, one age 20 and the other aged 24, had been fighting. It is alleged that the 24-year-old struck the 20-year-old in the face with a bottle cutting his face. The injured party was taken to hospital for stitches. The 24-year-old was charged with assault causing bodily harm, and the 20-year-old male was charged under the fighting bylaw. The 24-year-old will appear in court in April.
