DeLaet is cut from Open championship

Graham DeLaet was cut from the Open Championship, which was held at the Royal Liverpool golf course in England on July 17 to 20. This week, DeLaet returns to Canadian soil for the RBC Canadian Open, which will be held in Quebec on Thursday to Sunday, July 24 to 27.

DeLaet and Mike Weir head a contingent of 14 Canadian golfers in the field for the RBC Canadian Open. There is much to watch on the field, with Matt Kuchar and defending champion Brandy Snedeker heading a lineup that features five of the top 20 players in this week's Official World Golf Ranking.

During the Open championship, DeLaet was only able to golf in two rounds. He had a good first round, where he captured a birdie on hole five, a birdie on hole two, back-to-back bogeys on holes 11 and 12, a bogey on hole 15, and back-to-back birdies on holes 17 and 18. DeLaet finished the round at 71, one-under-par.

He struggled with bogeys during the second round of the tournament. In the front nine, DeLaet hit a double bogey in hole one, a bogey in hole two, a birdie in hole five, and then back-to-back double bogeys in holes eight and nine. Then during the back nine, he had a birdie on hole 10, and finished with an eagle on hole 16. His score for the round was 76, four-over-par.

The cut was set at two-over-par, so DeLaet one shot over the cut line. This was the second year that DeLaet had made an appearance at the Open championship.
