Delbert Murray Blackburn late of Regina, passed away May 18, 2012, at the age of 52 years. Delbert was born to Agnes and Richard Blackburn on April 30, 1960 in Fillmore. He was the middle child in a family of seven, all with names starting with the initial 'D'. He was raised in Creelman, and obtained his grade 10 education there. As a Cadet he was able to go on a trip to British Columbia. Delbert moved to Regina, around 1987. Delbert worked a variety of jobs in his lifetime. After an accident in 1997 he trained as a silversmith and enjoyed that work for several years. Delbert was on the para-transit committee for three years, in which he was given a plaque from the City of Regina for his contributions. He enjoyed playing crib, Facebooking, going for coffee and talking on the phone. Delbert had two children, Euphamie Rose, and Richard Murray Blackburn, both of Regina. Delbert was very proud to be a father and even though he couldn't see his children, he talked and thought of them often. Delbert was a very active person and liked to have fun. He always enjoyed a visit or call from his buddy, John Widdifield. Delbert will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew him. Delbert was predeceased by his father, Richard Blackburn and niece, Taelynn Blackburn. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Euphamie and Richard of Regina; mother, Agnes Blackburn of Creelman; brothers and sisters, Donald of Grand Prairie, AB; Donna (Garth) Allan of Corning, Douglas Blackburn of Weyburn, Darlene (Lawrence) Bisson of Weyburn, Dean (Sherri Hamilton) Blackburn of Weyburn, Dickie (Nicole) Blackburn of Weyburn, many nieces and nephews and special friend, Jodie Miller of Regina. A Graveside Service was held Saturday, May 26, at 11:00 a.m. at Golden Gates Cemetery, Creelman, with Anne White officiating. Donations in memory of Delbert may be made to the Paraplegic Association, the Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation, or a charity of donor's choice.
